Taking an Anaga hiking tour allows you to discover the best laurisilva cloud forest on the island, an ancient relict forest from the Tertiary period filled with laurels, hollies, and indigenous flora. During this 2.5-hour guided trail starting from the Cruz del Carmen Visitor Center, an expert guide will reveal the secrets of the local botany and the rich history of Canary traditions.

Route details
This Anaga hiking tour begins at the Cruz del Carmen Visitor Center. It is a low-difficulty circular route following the trail: Cruz del Carmen – Hija Cambada – Mirador de Zapata – Las Hiedras – Cruz del Carmen.
Along the walk, we will make interpretive stops to appreciate the landscape and enjoy this fairytale forest. Although it is an accessible route for all skill levels, it features sections with gentle slopes and damp ground, making suitable hiking shoes or athletic footwear with good grip mandatory for safety.

This Anaga hiking tour is of low difficulty and suitable for all audiences, with the exception of people with reduced mobility and children under 5 years old. However, please note that the trail features sections with gentle slopes and damp terrain, making suitable sports shoes or hiking footwear with good grip essential for your safety.
Punctuality: Please arrive on time. In case of delay, a maximum courtesy waiting time of 10 minutes will be allowed, provided that you notify us in advance.
Minimum group size: This activity requires a minimum of 4 participants to take place. If the minimum is not met, we will contact you to offer suitable alternatives.
Public transport: Bus service to the meeting point is limited. If you plan to arrive by bus, please check the schedules carefully and plan your journey well in advance.
Pickup service option: Transfer option is available on Tuesdays and Fridays only. Pickup meeting points for guests booking the transport option are Plaza de la Libertad in Garachico and Plaza del Charco in Puerto de la Cruz.
The Anaga massif is one of the dampest areas in Tenerife, making warm clothing, a raincoat, plenty of water, and snacks essential to enjoy this Anaga hiking tour in complete comfort.
Attending with appropriate clothing is very important. For safety reasons, participants without proper sports shoes or hiking footwear will not be allowed to join our Anaga hiking tour.
Permit clarification
Our route does not enter any of the three Integral Reserve areas located within the Anaga Rural Park, protected spaces where these group activities are restricted. Therefore, no special permits are required for this Anaga hiking tour.
