HIKING THROUGH THE MASCA GORGE
The Masca Gorge Trail is one of the greatest attractions in Tenerife A natural area nestled in the heart of Teno massif that allows you to explore one of the most ancient parts of the island At the same time we will be enjoying one of the most spectacular hiking trails that can be done on site.
The hiking route through the Masca Gorge begins with a short walk through the traditional Masca community that lays under the shadow of the Roque de Catana The small Masca, declared an asset of Cultural Interest, barely has 100 inhabitants and treasures a sample of the ethnography that this place hides where, in addition, we can find a beautiful representation of traditional Canarian architecture.

This hiking activity through the Masca Gorge begins in the small square of Masca at 10:15 a.m The descent route will take about 3,5 hours.
IMPORTANT: this tour DOES NOT INCLUDE the boat or kayak departure ticket, which must be obtained directly from the collaborating maritime companies (Discover Teno, Marítima Acantilados, Teno Activo or Flipper uno).

In the event of the ravine being closed for reasons beyond our control (adverse weather or other reasons):
* If the closure occurs in the days prior to the activity, we will contact the clients as soon as possible (via WhatsApp and email) to propose an alternative date if possible or otherwise a refund will be made.
* If the closure occurs on the same day of the activity, an alternative hiking excursion will be carried out in the Teno Rural Park and only the amount of the ticket to access the ravine will be refunded.
Once booked please note that you will need to present your ID or Passport to Masca Visitors Center staff on the day of the hiking activity. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, mountain clothes and shoes with good tread on the sole (this is MANDATORY), water (at least 2 liters per person) and food.
In the event of not wearing suitable footwear, the Visitor Center staff will not allow access to the gorge and the amount paid will not be refunded (sport or running shoes are NOT accepted only mountain shoes).
This hiking activity through the Masca ravine is of a medium difficulty so it is recommended only for people who are comfortable with medium demand hikes. Please take this in to consideration.
The hiking route through the Masca Gorge Trail is not recommended for people with cardio-respiratory problems, children under 12 years of age or pregnant women.
Courtesy waiting time is 10 minutes.
In case of not complying with any of the necessary conditions, regulations, equipment and documentation, both our staff and the person in charge of controlling the path will deny access and no type of reimbursement will be made.
The estimated approximate time to complete the Masca Gorge Trail is 3.5 hours.
During the descent of the path to Masca beach, if the guide considers that any user presents some type of difficulty to complete the hike, he/she may order him/she, for safety reasons, to return to the starting point. In this case, the guide will make sure that the physical conditions of the user are sufficient to guarantee the return and that they have water and food. This measure will also be coordinated by informing the control staff of the gorge, which is located at various points in the ravine.
Prices set from 5 people (adults). In the event that the minimum enrollment is not reached, we will notify you at least one day in advance. In that case you can choose another date, another activity, request a refund or carry out the activity assuming its minimum cost.
Car parking in Masca is regulated with a maximum of 2 hours. For this reason, it is recommended to access by public transport so as not to lose the reservation and the amount paid... If you arrive from the north of the island (Buenavista del Norte bus station) you should take TITSA line 355 at 9:35 am.
If you access from the south (public square of Santiago del Teide) you must take the same line at 9:15 am Both services have a very limited capacity so you must be at those stops well in advance. The payment of the ticket in Titsa can be made in cash directly to the driver. More info at titsa.com
