MOUNT TEIDE HIKING TOUR (INCLUDES PERMIT)
Reaching the summit of the highest point in Spain is one of the most special challenges you can experience in Tenerife, and we can help you make it a reality. During the ascent to Mount Teide, you will be accompanied at all times by our guide, who will provide useful information to help you understand and interpret the volcanic landscape surrounding you before reaching the summit of the volcano.
The tour begins at 8:45 a.m. at the lower cable car station, located at an altitude of 2,356 meters. From there, we will ascend in the cable car cabin, enjoying spectacular views of the National Park while we reach the upper station at 3,555 meters, known as La Rambleta.
⚠️ Cable car tickets are not included in the price of this experience.
⚠️ The public access fee is included in the activity price. This fee, set by the Natural Environment Department of the Tenerife Island Council, for those joining a tour with a official guide, is as follows:
- Tenerife residents: 0€
- Children under 14: 0€
- Canary Islands residents: 6€
- Other visitors: 15€
Once at the top, we will go through the check point towards trail No. 10 – Telesforo Bravo, which leads to the very top of Mount Teide. From this point, we will begin the final stretch of the ascent to the summit, located at 3,715 meters, while the guide shares insights about the past and present of the National Park in general and Mount Teide in particular.
At the summit, we will have 15-20 minutes to enjoy the views. If conditions allows, from here it is possible to see up to four islands of the Canary archipelago: La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria.
At around 10:45 a.m., we will begin the descent from the crater. Once back at the upper cable car station, you will have sufficient free time (without the guide) to visit the viewpoint of the Pico Viejo volcano, a visit we especially recommend, as its crater measures up to 800 meters in diameter. You may also explore other well-known areas of Teide National Park.
To round off the experience, a stop at the famous Roques de García is almost mandatory after ascending Mount Teide. This iconic area is the starting point for several interesting routes, including nighttime options such as the one you can read about here.
